Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of the AstroMaitri platform, including all features, content, and services offered through the website and mobile application. These Terms are subject to the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT Amendment Act, 2008, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and applicable international standards including GDPR where relevant.

Accessing or registering on the Platform constitutes your unconditional acceptance of these Terms. We recommend reading these Terms in their entirety before using the Platform.

To use AstroMaitri, you must meet all of the following criteria:

• You must be 18 years of age or older. The Platform is strictly not intended for minors.
• For matrimony features, you must be an Indian citizen or resident or an Indian diaspora member seeking a match within India.
• For matrimony features, you must not be currently married or in a legally binding domestic partnership.
• You must possess a valid and active mobile number or email address for verification and account access.
• AstroMaitri reserves the right to verify your identity at any time through government-issued ID, phone verification, or any other reasonable means.
• Persons previously suspended or banned from the Platform are ineligible to re-register.

AstroMaitri offers the following services, subject to the chosen subscription plan:

• Matrimony Matchmaking: Curated profile recommendations based on user preferences, community, and astrological compatibility.
• Vedic Astrology Services: Kundli generation, daily/weekly/monthly horoscopes, birth chart analysis, and Ashtakoot Milan compatibility scoring.
• AI-Powered Compatibility Analysis: Machine learning algorithms to suggest compatible matches based on profile data and preferences.
• Communication Tools: In-app chat, interest expression, and profile viewing features for connected members.
• Astrology Content and Education: Articles, guides, and resources on Vedic astrology, Nakshatras, doshas, and muhurta.

Service availability is subject to subscription tier and may change with 30 days' notice.

• Accurate Information: You must provide true, accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep it updated at all times.
• One Account Per Person: Each individual may maintain only one active account. Duplicate accounts will be suspended.
• Account Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. AstroMaitri is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to secure your account.
• Suspension and Termination: We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or receive sustained complaints from other users, without prior notice.
• Verification: We may require identity, marital status, or age verification at any point. Failure to comply may result in account restriction.

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities while using the Platform:

• Create fake profiles, impersonate another person, or misrepresent your identity, marital status, age, or personal details.
• Upload, post, or transmit any content that is obscene, offensive, defamatory, or pornographic as defined under Section 67 of the IT Act, 2000.
• Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate other users through the Platform's communication features.
• Use the Platform for commercial solicitation, multi-level marketing, spam, or advertising without written permission.
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Platform's systems, servers, or databases.
• Share personal contact details (phone, email, social media handles) publicly in profile sections — these may only be shared through approved Platform channels.
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers to collect user data or interact with the Platform.
• Engage in activities that constitute cyber fraud or cheating under the Indian Penal Code or IT Act.

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination and referral to relevant law enforcement authorities.

Astrology and kundli matching services provided on AstroMaitri are for entertainment and guidance purposes only. AstroMaitri does not guarantee matrimonial success based on astrological compatibility. All astrological reports, horoscopes, compatibility scores, and predictions are generated using traditional Vedic astrology principles combined with computational algorithms and should not be treated as professional, legal, medical, or psychological advice.

Users should exercise their own independent judgment in making matrimonial, financial, health, or life decisions. AstroMaitri, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any decision made in reliance on astrological content provided on the Platform.

We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (“SPDI Rules”).

By using the Platform, you consent to our collection and processing of your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, though this may affect your ability to use certain services.

• Subscription Fees: Access to premium features requires a paid subscription. All fees are listed on the Platform and are subject to change with 30 days' notice.
• Non-Refundable: Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or other applicable Indian law. Refund requests within 7 days of purchase will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• GST: All prices are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) as per Indian tax laws.
• Payment Processing: Payments are processed securely via Razorpay, which is PCI DSS compliant. AstroMaitri does not store your full card or banking details.
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period. You will receive prior notice before renewal. You may cancel auto-renewal from your account settings.

• All content on AstroMaitri — including text, graphics, logos, UI design, software code, and astrology algorithms — is the exclusive property of AstroMaitri and is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 and other applicable intellectual property laws.
• You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or commercially exploit any Platform content without prior written permission.
• By submitting content (profile photos, bio, etc.), you grant AstroMaitri a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and moderate that content for the purpose of operating the Platform.
• The trademark AstroMaitri™ and associated logos are registered trademarks in India. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AstroMaitri's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be limited to the amount paid by you to AstroMaitri in the 3 months immediately preceding the claim.

We are not liable for: (a) any matrimonial outcomes or relationship decisions made based on Platform recommendations; (b) the accuracy of astrological predictions or kundli analyses; (c) indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages; (d) loss of data or unauthorized access by third parties due to circumstances beyond our control.

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the details of our Grievance Officer are:

All complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within the timeframes prescribed under applicable law.

• Governing Law: These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
• Jurisdiction: Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
• Arbitration: Before approaching courts, parties agree to attempt resolution through arbitration as per the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The arbitral tribunal shall consist of a sole arbitrator mutually agreed upon by both parties.
• Consumer Disputes: Nothing in this clause restricts a consumer's right to approach a Consumer Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

• We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified with at least 30 days' advance notice via email or prominent in-app notification.
• Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
• We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates when these Terms were most recently revised.
